I read a post on the blog, You Thought We Wouldn't Notice, about Urban Outfitters copying a thread earring design from Etsy. But if you've ever read my blog, you know that I've been selling quality string or thread earrings -- which I discovered in Brazil in 2004 -- for several years at street sales in Brooklyn and via my own Etsy store. So this is definitely not a case of an Etsy designer being ripped off by Urban Outfitters. The earrings originated in South America and Central America. By the way, H&M also sells the string earrings and Old Navy sold poorly made knock-offs in spring 2007.
