Free Fashion Week Sketches at the W Union Square

This season, the W Hotels in New York (including W Union Square, W Times Square, W New York, and W Downtown) remain the epicenter of style, fashion, and “cocktail culture” during New York Fashion Week. From sipping a designer cocktail at the bar to live fashion sketch artists on site at W Union Square, W Hotels of New York show their passion for fashion at every turn.

W Union Square has partnered with the BFA Illustration Program at Parsons The New School for Design to host one in-residence fashion illustrator in the hotel’s Living Room throughout Fashion Week from 1:30 – 6:30pm each day, capturing the inner fashionista of the hotel’s guests and fashionable locals.

Fashion's Night Out in New York City was a fine frenzy. It was all too much for Tracy's Pop & Shop, but others seemed to enjoy the consumer chaos.

The myriad of folks waiting for the opening of the Missoni for Target pop-up shop were particularly enthusiastic as they stood in the never ending line that wrapped around the location at 1095 Sixth Avenue past the Gap on the corner of 42nd and Broadway.
"I just want a bike," I overheard one eager customer say regarding the collection's black-and-white zig-zag print 10-speed bike.
The Missoni for Target capsule collection is the brand's biggest yet, and items range in price from $2.99 to $599.
The pop-up shop is open Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. But if you aren't a fan of long queues, I suggest you arrive at a Target near you bright and early on Sept. 13, when the Missoni for Target collection launches in stores. Wednesday, September 07, 2011
